Ingredients
Meranti Sponge Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 45 g sugar
- 1/2 tsp cake emulsifier
- 40 g medium protein flour
- 1/2 tsp cornstarch
- 70 g margarine, melted
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp vanilla
Stuffing and Topping Ingredients
- 120 g unsalted butter
- 40 g powdered sugar
- 100 g cheddar cheese, grated
Instructions
- Put the eggs, sugar, and cake emulsifier into a bowl. Beat on medium speed until foamy. Then increase the speed of the mixer, beat the dough until it is white and stiff.
- Add the flour, cornstarch, salt, and vanilla while sifting into the dough. Beat again on low speed.
- Add melted margarine, beat until smooth. Then flatten the dough with a spatula.
- Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the pan. Flatten the dough. Then tap the pan to reduce the air in the dough.
- Bake the dough in the oven at 180°C for 20 minutes or until cooked.
- Put butter and powdered sugar in a bowl, mixer until fluffy, white, and well blended. Set aside.
- Remove the cake from the pan, then turn it over with parchment paper. Gently open the parchment paper on the cake.
- Spread butter cream on the surface of the cake, sprinkle the cheese and grated cheese on top of the butter.
- Open the parchment paper, then brush the surface of the cake with butter cream and top with grated cheese.
