  • 1 chayote squash

  • Sliced seasoning ingredients:
  • 5 shallots

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • 2 slices lesser galangal

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar or to taste

  • 1 ½ teaspoons of salt

  • ½ teaspoon of ground pepper

  • 1 liter water

Directions

  • Bring water to a boil, then add sliced shallots, garlic, and lesser galangal. Let them cook until the seasonings are well-cooked.
  • Add sugar and salt, then add the corn pieces and cook until the corn is tender.
  • Next, add the chayote squash and cook until it’s tender.
  • After that, add the spinach and cook for only 2 minutes.
  • Finally, add the ground pepper, stir well, and adjust the taste according to your preference.

Notes

  • Ensure you choose fresh and high-quality spinach. Fresh spinach retains more nutrients.
  • When sautéing spinach, use natural seasonings like finely chopped garlic and shallots. This will add delicious flavor and a pleasant aroma to the dish.
  • Besides spinach, you can add other vegetables like corn, chayote squash, or other green vegetables to enhance nutritional diversity.
  • Use salt and sugar in moderation. You can reduce the amount of salt and sugar if you’re following a detoxification program.
  • When sautéing, use an appropriate amount of oil to keep the dish healthy. You can opt for healthy oils like olive oil.
  • To add a different flavor dimension, consider adding sliced green chili peppers as a garnish. This will provide a delightful spicy sensation.
  • Clear spinach soup is most enjoyable when served warm. Serve it immediately after it’s cooked to savor the best texture and flavor.
  • Ensure that the portion of spinach in your dish is balanced and sufficient to provide the necessary nutrients for your body without excess.
