Fire Noodles recipes are so-called due to their spicy flavour. The spicy and savoury flavour combo can become a creative option for regular instant noodles. Spicy food lovers must try this!
To be practical, I’ll share this Fire Noodles Recipe with instant fried noodles. As it turns out, Fire Noodles mean noodles that are super spicy. But if we’re making super-spicy noodles, remember that other aromas must still be present. It shouldn’t be just spicy. And to be practical, I’ll make Fire Noodles with instant fried noodles. You can also use dried noodles that don’t come with seasoning.
Fire Noodles Recipe Ingredients
First, we’ll need instant noodles. I’m making 3 servings. For 2 servings, adjust the amount of other ingredients. I’m using two eggs. For the spices, we need garlic, bird’s eye chilli, green onions, and thinly sliced Kaffir lime leaves, if you like.
Then, chili powder, oyster sauce, oil, sesame oil (optional), chicken stock, or seasoning from the instant fried noodles. If you’re not using instant noodles, simply use chicken powder.
Also, we’ll get fragrant oil from instant fried noodles. If you use plain oil, you need to add garlic and green onion, but if you use fragrant oil, you can just use it as is. But, if you still want to add the garlic and green onions in, it’ll make the dish even more special. I’m using them all.
If you like chili sauce, you can use regular ones or the one from the instant fried noodles. So, first, prepare the water to boil the noodles. We’ll also slice the green onions, bird’s eye chili, and garlic.
Add the noodles in. Don’t let it get too soggy, but adjust it to your preference. Let’s make the Spicy Oil. Somehow, people are more interested in Fire Noodles than Spicy Noodles even though both are the same thing. If you use the fragrant oil from the instant fried noodles, don’t heat it up as it’s already cooked.
Add the chopped ingredients to a bowl. We won’t cook the bird’s eye chilli so it’s spicier. Add the chili powder and Kaffir lime leaves (if using) into the bowl. Once the oil is hot, pour it in. Don’t pour it all in. It’s really fragrant. I’ll add only two packs of the fragrant oil as it might get too oily.
Add a bit of sesame oil and oyster sauce. Don’t forget the chicken powder or instant seasoning and the chilli sauce. The Spicy Oil is ready. Let’s check the noodles. Once it’s almost cooked, add the eggs. I’ll stir the eggs so it’s scrambled. Now, let it cook properly. Once it’s cooked, drain the noodles.
It’s savoury and spicy, and right after I finished cooking, the rain came pouring down, perfect weather for this dish. It’s spicy, but you can make it even spicier to make true Fire Noodles. But again, it’s up to you. This one is still easy to eat. Sometimes, if it’s too spicy, we can’t enjoy it.
Instant noodles already taste good, but this dish adds some effort to that. It tastes a bit “gourmet” thanks to the fragrant oil, green onions, garlic, and chilli powder. We put some effort into creating these flavours. We stirred the eggs, so the dish is saucy and savoury. You can also add more heat to this dish. Be careful if you’re using Manadonese chilli powder as it’s super spicy. Chilli powder is also spicier than cayenne pepper or paprika powder.
